Baby J is the child I have cared for since he was five months old.
I am the person who has witnessed the flower blooming—from a tiny petal into a child who smiles, talks, and asks thoughtful questions in his own beautiful grammar, like: “Who you used to do before?”
I have watched him grow from babbling sounds to full sentences, from small fingers learning to grasp to hands that build, create, and teach me in return. Today, he can count to billions, solve math problems, teach me how to play UNO, put together puzzles, make paper rockets, and plan imaginary adventures.
To care for a child from such an early age is to witness a quiet miracle. You don’t just see growth—you live inside it. You become part of the seasons of a human life, watching curiosity unfold day by day.
This is one of the greatest privileges of being a nanny.

I Am a Nanny
I have loved The Sound of Music since the first time I saw it.
I’ve watched the movie many times—especially over the past five years—and each time it quietly spoke to me again.
I didn’t know then that this love would lead me to my current work: being a nanny.
Last week, a five-year-old boy I care for told me he had watched the movie with his family. He then asked me, very seriously, what I did before becoming a nanny. I told him the truth: I was a teacher. I worked as a translator, a journalist, a language teacher, and later an investor in the education field.
My path to becoming a nanny was longer than Julie Andrews’ story in the movie.
Before caring for other families, I had to care for my own. I come from a family of seven children, and responsibility came early in my life.
The movie gently taught me that caring for children is not about control or perfection, but about presence, patience, and love. When children feel safe and seen, they grow—naturally and beautifully.
Today, I am happy teaching little ones how to smile, how to use their fingers to open jars, how to read, write, and imagine adventures through stories.
All my previous work led me here.
And now, with gratitude and calm certainty, I can say:
I am a nanny.
