Not only did we enjoy my maniacal menu for our Young Frankenstein movie night at our backyard theatre Magnolia Marquee, but we even had a Halloween prototype ready for volunteers to help test our Frankenstein Experiment! After much brainstorming together this spring, our own “mad scientist” has been working the past couple months on programming Arduinos with LEDs & electrical props a la Kenneth Strickfaden’s 1931 movie laboratory, and local prop fabricator DC Props delivered our new custom 7ft Frank steel-structure pneumatic figure just a couple days before, so we were racing to build a couple chairs, clamp devices to temporary tables, and even dress our Frank in time for our movie guests to help us practice with our props! I love my geeky friends! How many scifi heckles can you hear? We know we have a long way to go before we are ready for our Haunted Hollywood Halloween, but as Glen announced afterwards, “I think the test was successful...and by that, I mean we learned a lot!” 😆
