This weekend was bittersweet. It was the last of my summer markets. I had a jam packed schedule this summer, and on one hand I'm happy to have a few more free weekends, but on the other hand I'm going to miss my market friends so much. For the past three months, I spent 3 Saturdays a month at the High Peaks Farmers Markets and for most of those markets my daughter was able to join me. It was so special to be able to bring her along - there aren't too many jobs these days where you can bring your kid to work! It was also rather chaotic at times, but totally worth it. Next summer she'll be a very busy and active toddler, and I know I won't be able to bring her along. The summer market season is short, fast, and crazy, and by the end of it I need a little break, but I know I'm going to be missing it in just a few weeks. Luckily both the Saranac Lake and Keene Farmer's markets continue for another month, so I'll be able to visit my friends as a shopper and not a worker.
