Good Morning Tropical Sno friends
We wanted to come on here today to share some information with you all, not for sympathy but for clarity.
We began discussing becoming a dealer for Tropical Sno in July of 2024. Snow cones are heavily seasonal so we held off on any further discussion until January of 2025. Late February, early March of 2025 we began moving forward with our plans. Then, mid March Brady and I came into a situation where our elderly neighbor (Mrs. B)needed help and was hospitalized until April.
During this time it was discovered that she was diagnosed with B- Cell lymphoma. Madi has lost 3/4 of her grandparents to different forms of cancer, so unfortunately this was news she had familiarity with. Ultimately we came to the decision that we would take on caring for and supporting Mrs. B every step of the way.
We had another heavy conversation that we were not going to move forward with Tropical Sno because we knew it would be hard to run a business, both work full time, care for Mrs. B and raise our daughter. Not long after Mrs. B was released from the hospital, Madiโs grandmother was hospitalized and later passed away mid April.
Mrs. B learned of our plans for Tropical Sno and was instant that we continued forward and that she in no way wanted to be the reason we chose not to continue. As you can see here we are today!
From the first day Madi discovered the health concerns with Mrs. B, to today. Madi spent everyday at the hospital, taking her to cancer appointments getting to know Mrs. B, taking care of her home and advocating for her needs. Between April and September we have had to cancel events, with the most recent being Back to King City night that was scheduled for today. We wanted to clarify that we have not canceled events just to cancel, but vague reason may have been given out of respect to Mrs. Bโs situation. We understand that canceling events does not look good and we do apologize for that. Being our first year as business owners we of course do not want a negative image. However, caring for Mrs. B while respecting her story has been top priority, even when she would want it to be the exact opposite.
To our King City supporters, we do apologize that we had to cancel today. Mrs. B has been in the hospital for the last couple of weeks and right now she needs us. Mrs. B did not want us to cancel, so if she knew we did, weโd be getting to be an ear full!
Again, we are not looking for sympathy of any sort. Our decision to share this is purely to provide clarity regarding the business and some of the โvague cancellations.โ
We have two events left in our season both behind October 2nd & 3rd. We hope to see everyone there and we are already making plans for next year, with some dates already booked! ๐งโค๏ธ
