Showering can be harmful to your skin. Hot, running water destroys natural skin protection - lipid barrier. You might experience dry and irritated skin afterwards.
Here are 4 winter TIPS how to take care of dry eczema skin:
1) Get dirty - avoid showering every day. You won’t stink too much if skip a day or two of shower in a week. Your immune system needs some exposure to pathogens 🦠 to not forget how to protect the body.
2) Use gloves 🧤- either at home when doing homework or outside. Gloves protect your skin from direct contact with environment.
3) Too Hot - when you clean an oily pan you want to use warm water and lots of dish soap, right? It helps to wash off all of the oil. Well your skin is not a pan and it needs some oil to protect it. Use lukewarm water and gentle, not foaming cleanser.
4) Milky - the last one is personally my favorite way of taking care of my ECZEMA SKIN. Every other day I soak and wash my skin with this Body Milk, Body Soak Moisturizer available at FORRESskin.com. It leaves a protective layer of phospholipids on the surface of my skin and creates a perfect base for after-shower moisturizer.
