Just got the news that The Bees Wax Department at Gretchen Bee Ranch is winding down operations. Mark and Thien and the team have mentored and inspired the beekeeping community for 18 years and have brought so much to the many people they've touched. We're in business here at CharlieBee because of them, and if we ever do anything right here at our shop it's because we learned it from the Gretchens. Our community is much the better for their years in business and being of service. Thanks, y'all! ❤️

Thank you for the many adventures you’ve shared with us these past 18 years of Gretchen Bee Ranch and The Beeswax Department. It’s time for new adventures. We’re moving away from the business of bees and more into the business of serving.

Shop will not formally reopen but we do have inventory of candles, honey and body care and other things. Pick up would be by appointment only or if you’re in SATX, we can meet up when we come into town for classes. Shipping, of course, is also available. Text me (and tell me who you are) and I’m happy to check inventory for you.

Bees in a bureau drawer!

We pulled the drawer, carefully removed the comb and transferred the colony, with Chris the Honey Badger helping as we went and running the camera. With temperatures over 100°F, it was time to wrap up, get as many bees as we could, and get out of the heat. We found the queen once we got the hive home with us.
