The first release of our all-new FT diesels have arrived at Rapido HQ and will be available very soon!

General Motors’ FT diesels were truly game changers. They could well be considered the first successful diesel road locomotive, and initial success with FTs convinced many steam-era railroads to start retiring steam and dieselize their fleets. The FT introduced EMD’s iconic bulldog nose to the world, a design that would carry over onto thousands of E- and F-series locomotives, as well as others worldwide.

The Rapido Trains HO scale New FT locomotive features:

-Close-coupling system for great appearance on straights and curves
-Drawbar or coupler connections between A and B units
-Multiple styles of number boards, installed as appropriate
-Correct nose and windshield contours
-Three styles of dynamic brake hatch, installed as appropriate

Things have been busy for over the last few weeks with Union Pacific's Big Boy making a once in a lifetime lifetime appearance on the east coat as part of the America's 250th celebration. Now that things have quieted down it's time to offer to you guys the Broadway Limited Imports, LLC newest Big Boy release featuring both the East and West coast 4014 Big Boy variations. Available in sound or stealth for those who want to add their own sound decoder these will be a nice addition to anyones layout or to those who saw and chased this amazing locomotive. NEW RUN OF BIG BOYS!

We know some of you may roll your eyes at another run of Big Boys, but with the locomotives current tour to celebrate America's 250th birthday, the requests have been endless, and we're proud to honor those many requests!

This release features three new versions of locomotive #4014, including two versions representing its current appearance during the tour celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary, as well as a special version depicting its unique smoke deflector appearance during a 2025 excursion between Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Denver, Colorado. Each model includes prototypically accurate details and is sure to be a standout addition to any customer’s layout.

New details being added to our 4014 model include:

- Placard on front grab iron above the headlight.
- Golden Eagle detail on the front
- Aluminum tires and walkway stripes
- Newly tooled dual-beam headlight
- New pilot/coupler cover
- On our east coast version, new UP herald with red, white and blue striping.

In addition, we are offering two road numbers representing the locomotive’s 1941 as-delivered appearance, complete with aftercoolers and the 25-C-100 coal tender. We will also offer two road numbers in the locomotive’s 1944 appearance, featuring Wilson aftercoolers and the larger 25-C-400 coal tender.

Models will be available equipped with our Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC system with synchronized smoke, as well as in our Stealth DCC-Ready series. Stealth models feature a 21-pin decoder interface and a factory-installed speaker, making it easy for customers to install the aftermarket decoder of their choice.
