🎬 TWO MORE NOMINATIONS FOR PRETTY LITTLE LUCY.
Apparently this strange little psychological rabbit hole still has a few surprises left.
Pretty Little Lucy has officially been named a Nominee at the 7th RIFF – Roshani International Film Festival, with the festival event scheduled for September 6.
And then today came one I genuinely did not expect:
🏆 All The Laughs Comedy Awards — Official Nominee
Yes. A psychological thriller about catfishing, loneliness, obsession, hallucination, digital identity, and a man slowly losing his grip on reality has now been nominated at a comedy festival.
And I absolutely love it.
I submitted Pretty Little Lucy to All The Laughs in their wonderfully appropriate “404 Category Not Found” category on a whim. The story has always been difficult to classify. It can be disturbing, heartbreaking, surreal and uncomfortable—but underneath all of that is a vein of very dark, very human comedy.
Sometimes reality becomes so absurd that the only reasonable response is to laugh.
All The Laughs told me the project was selected from hundreds of submissions representing 21 countries, and it is now in contention for their Golden Pitcher. They’ll be announcing the specific nomination category shortly.
That makes this pair of nominations especially fun.
🌍 7th RIFF – Roshani International Film Festival ⭐ Nominee — Pretty Little Lucy
😂 All The Laughs Comedy Awards ⭐ Official Nominee — Pretty Little Lucy 🏆 In contention for the Golden Pitcher
From international screenplay competitions to a category literally called 404 Category Not Found, this screenplay keeps finding rooms I never expected it to enter.
Maybe that is the most appropriate journey possible for Pretty Little Lucy.
A true story. A strange obsession. A dangerous illusion.

THE SHADOW OF THE DEADMAN’S DAUGHTER — DRAFT 10

The rewrite is complete.

What began as a revenge Western has evolved into something much darker: a psychological Western about inheritance, memory, violence, and the voices we carry long after the people who shaped us are gone.

LOGLINE

Years after her outlaw father is hanged, a hardened gunfighter hunts the men who destroyed her family—only to discover that the dead man's voice guiding her revenge may be the very inheritance she must learn to survive.

At the center of the story is Mercy Boone, a woman who has spent years believing she understands what happened to her family.

She has a ledger of names.

She has a gun.

And she has her father's voice in her head telling her exactly what everything means.

The problem?

He may be wrong.

Draft 10 pushes The Shadow of the Deadman’s Daughter beyond the traditional revenge Western and into psychological thriller/horror territory, where the real confrontation isn't simply between Mercy and the people in her ledger.

It's between inheritance and identity.

Between the person her father taught her to become...

…and the person she chooses to be.

The screenplay is now available across multiple industry platforms:

The gunfight is the easy part.

The harder fight is deciding which voice in your head belongs to you.

🏆
PRETTY LITTLE LUCY
WINS THREE MORE INTERNATIONAL SCREENWRITING HONORS
Some recognition feels especially meaningful because it speaks directly to why you wrote the story the way you did.
I’m incredibly pleased to share that Pretty Little Lucy has been recognized at the Top Independent Directors & Screenwriters Awards 2026, presented as part of WILD FILMMAKER’s 7th Anniversary celebration.
🎬 BEST GLOBAL FEATURE SCRIPT 2026 ✍️ BEST ORIGINAL SCREENWRITER 🌎 BEST INTERNATIONAL WRITING STYLE — Feature Script
That last one means a lot to me.
From the beginning, Pretty Little Lucy was never intended to be a conventional thriller.
It’s a story about loneliness, digital deception, obsession, fantasy, and what happens when the mind begins rewriting reality because reality has become too painful to accept.
The screenplay deliberately moves between the ordinary and the surreal—between what happened, what David believes happened, and what he desperately wishes had happened.
So when different readers, competitions, festivals, and filmmakers around the world continue responding not only to the story, but specifically to its originality and writing style, I pay attention.
There was a time when this was simply an extraordinarily strange thing that happened to me.
Then I wrote about it.
And somehow that strange little story from Western Pennsylvania has continued traveling around the world.
The awards are wonderful, and I’m grateful for every one of them.
But the mission now is bigger:
Turn the screenplay into a movie.
The script exists. The package is growing. The creative circle is growing. The conversations are getting more interesting.
Now we keep building.
Thank you to WILD FILMMAKER and the Top Independent Directors & Screenwriters Awards for continuing to support independent storytellers—and congratulations to all of this year’s filmmakers and writers.

🏆 PRETTY LITTLE LUCY — FINALIST Filmique International Film Festival 2026 Best Script or Screenplay
Another finalist placement.
Another international recognition.
Another reason that increasingly ridiculous $1.20 offer keeps getting funnier. 😂
For anyone just joining this saga:
$1.20.
One penny for every year of the 120-year Warner story.
Why?
Because more than a century ago, the Warner brothers helped begin their journey in Western Pennsylvania.
And now, from those same Pennsylvania roots, comes Pretty Little Lucy—a psychological thriller recognized across 100+ international film festivals and screenplay competitions.
I’m not going to tell anyone:
❌ “Everybody will love it.” ❌ “It can’t fail.” ❌ “It’s guaranteed to make millions.”
That’s not how filmmaking works.
What I can say is:
The screenplay keeps getting tested. The screenplay keeps getting recognized. The package keeps getting stronger.
And somehow…
THE PRICE IS STILL $1.20.
Warner Bros., I’m trying very hard to maintain price discipline here.
But if Lucy keeps collecting laurels…
$1.21 is beginning to look dangerously reasonable. 😂
Consider this your:
🚨 FINALIST FOMO NOTICE 🚨
PRETTY LITTLE LUCY × FILMIQUE × WBD
🏆 100+ international festival & screenplay competition recognitions 🏆 Filmique International Film Festival — FINALIST 📍 Born from the same Western Pennsylvania soil where the Warner story began 💰 120-Year Offer: $1.20
The résumé keeps growing. The offer hasn’t changed.
Yet. 👀

🇻🇳 FROM WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA TO VIETNAM.
Woke up this morning to another incredible piece of news:
PRETTY LITTLE LUCY has won at the Vietnam International Movie Awards 2026!
There is something increasingly surreal about watching this story travel.
Pretty Little Lucy began with something that happened to me—an intensely personal, bizarre experience involving digital deception, loneliness, identity and the increasingly blurry boundary between our real lives and the lives we create online.
I turned it into a screenplay in Western Pennsylvania.
And somehow that screenplay just keeps traveling.
Different countries. Different cultures. Different juries. Yet people continue finding something universal inside this very strange story.
That’s what means the most to me.
And the timing couldn’t be better. The project isn’t simply collecting recognition anymore. We’re building the movie.
The creative team continues taking shape, the package continues getting stronger, and Pretty Little Lucy continues finding an audience around the world before we’ve photographed a single frame.
Thank you to the Vietnam International Movie Awards 2026 and the Wild Filmmaker community for continuing to carry independent stories across borders.
🇺🇸 Western Pennsylvania → 🇻🇳 Vietnam.
And yes, Warner Bros…
the $1.20 option is still on the table. 😉

Well, Pretty Little Lucy just keeps finding new rooms to walk into.
I’m incredibly happy to share that Pretty Little Lucy has been named a Semi-Finalist at the California Women Film Festival.
This one feels particularly meaningful.
Although Pretty Little Lucy unfolds through the fractured perspective of its male protagonist, women occupy the emotional center of the story—sometimes real, sometimes imagined, sometimes hidden behind a screen.
At its core, the screenplay examines what happens when loneliness, idealization, digital identity and the desperate need for human connection collide.
Lucy becomes an idea.
Aria becomes an escape.
And eventually, fantasy becomes something David can no longer reliably distinguish from reality.
Having this story advance to the semi-finalist stage with the California Women Film Festival is another reminder that audiences and judges are finding something in this strange, deeply personal little psychological thriller that extends beyond the circumstances that inspired it.
And that’s probably been the most rewarding part of this entire journey.
What began with one bizarre experience has become a story about something much bigger:
How badly human beings need to feel seen—and what can happen when someone learns how to exploit that need.
Thank you to the California Women Film Festival for advancing Pretty Little Lucy to the semi-finals.
The glitch keeps traveling. 🎬📱

Another stop on the journey.
I’m excited to share that Pretty Little Lucy has been officially selected by the Filmique International Film Festival.
Every selection is a reminder that this story continues to resonate with readers around the world.
What began as a deeply personal experience has evolved into a conversation about loneliness, mental health, digital deception, and the resilience of the human spirit. Knowing that these themes continue to connect with festival juries across different countries is incredibly meaningful.
Thank you to the Filmique International Film Festival for including Pretty Little Lucy in this year’s Official Selection.
The journey continues.

Hey WB — apparently Route 66 leads back to Western Pennsylvania. 😂
Pretty Little Lucy just picked up THREE more wins at the Route 66 Film Critics Circle Awards 2026:
🏆 Best Arthouse Thriller Script 2026 🏆 Best Original Screenwriter of the Year 🏆 Best Indie Feature Script 2026
And apparently we’re headed toward Las Vegas next.
That $1.20 option is aging remarkably well. 😂

Hey Warner Bros.—I may have found an alternative financing strategy. 😂
Apparently Ava, my “Sensory Psychic,” has discovered my Personal Pass to Wealth through an 18th-century secret alchemical order.
Lottery wins. Yachts. VIP lists. Instant fortune.
Which is especially hilarious considering Pretty Little Lucy is literally about someone being emotionally manipulated online with increasingly ridiculous promises.
The universe has officially joined the marketing campaign.
So, WB… Ava and I are now part of the package.
Still a bargain at $1.20. 😂

08/04/2026

Pretty Little Lucy has officially been named a NOMINEE at the 2026 Brampton International Nollywood Film Festival (BINFF).
The screenplay has advanced from:
Official Selection → Official Nominee → Now officially competing for one or more BINFF 2026 awards.
Winners will be announced at the BINFF Closing Gala Awards on September 12, 2026.
And somehow this crazy journey keeps getting crazier.
What began as an intensely personal story about loneliness, digital deception, obsession, fantasy, and the dangerous places our minds can take us has now traveled around the world — earning recognition from more than 100 international film festivals and screenplay competitions and accumulating 200+ individual awards and honors along the way.
All while Pretty Little Lucy remains exactly what it was intended to be:
A deeply uncomfortable psychological story about a man who desperately wants something to be real.
And the consequences when it isn’t.
Which brings me back to you, Warner Bros. Discovery. 👀
Your 120th anniversary is coming.
Four Warner brothers helped build a cinematic empire after beginning their exhibition journey right here in Western Pennsylvania.
120 years later, another Pennsylvania storyteller has a screenplay traveling around the world.
So the offer still stands:
$1.20.
A symbolic option.
One penny for every year.
Talent is attaching.
The creative team is forming.
The international recognition continues.
The packaging continues.
And apparently the nominations aren’t finished yet either.
At some point somebody in Burbank is going to have to admit this has become a pretty entertaining pitch. 😂
Until then, we’ll keep building.
We’ll keep experimenting.
We’ll keep rattling a few cages.
And we’ll keep seeing just how far this strange little Pennsylvania story can travel.
Congratulations to everyone involved with BINFF 2026, and thank you to the festival for recognizing Pretty Little Lucy.
September 12.
Let’s see what happens.
And Warner Bros.?
The $1.20 offer is still on the table. 🎬
For now. 😉
