Getting this sax ready for a student who’s just getting started in the world of saxophone! 🎷

First things first… tear it all the way down.

Here’s a little time-lapse of the disassembly before it gets cleaned, serviced, adjusted, and put back together ready to make some music.

There’s something pretty satisfying about watching a saxophone come apart piece by piece. 😎

Found the final boss of the soprano collection. 😂🎷Apparently if you own enough sopranos, Kenny G appears. 😂 🎷

This Cannonball Big Bell tenor is almost ready for sale! 🎷🔥

Tonight’s soundtrack? A little saxophone ASMR. 😂

There’s just something satisfying about leak checking a freshly overhauled horn and hearing those pads snap shut and seal firmly. No leaks. No excuses. Just thump… thump… thump.

Music to a repair guy’s ears. 👌🎷

A few final adjustments and this beauty will be ready for its next player!

Another old Pan American just found its way into the Creekside shop. 🎷

This one is a silver-plated Pan American alto, serial #48,040, wearing one of my favorite Pan American engravings, the incredible Eagle & Globe design.

She’s definitely showing her age, but underneath all that tarnish is a seriously beautiful saxophone. The engraving is still crisp, the silver looks like it should clean up nicely, and overall it appears to have survived the last 90+ years remarkably well.

I filmed the unboxing so you can see exactly how it arrived before I start tearing into it.

Now comes the fun part…

Let’s see what’s hiding underneath 90+ years of grime and tarnish. 😎

Bringing the shine back to this 1922 Wurlitzer C Melody one section at a time. More than 100 years of age and oxidation disappearing right before your eyes. 🎷✨

There’s something pretty satisfying about watching that silver come back to life.

Here’s a couple of neat woodwinds from my Pan American collection.

A matching rosewood Pan American clarinet ( #111899) and oboe ( #133860). I love seeing these old woodwinds together nearly a century after they left the factory. The grain in the rosewood is absolutely beautiful!

It’s been a lot of fun tracking down the different Pan American instruments, especially knowing how much my dad loved this brand.

Does anyone have any Pan American any other Pan American woodwinds to share? I’d love to see what’s still out there.

I’ve been spending a lot of time restoring and optimizing my YouTube channel lately. This is one of my favorite worship arrangements I’ve recorded. I’d love for you to check my channel. Link is in the comments.
