I recently read a statistic that only 1.4% of children are actively involved on a daily basis with farming.

The raw truth is that every passing year farming is becoming increasingly more and more difficult. Rising input costs and dwindling output prices (all things we have no control over) paint a challenging picture for the future.

When we started growing cut flowers here on our farm, one of our biggest goals was to ensure that this generational family farm could thrive for years to come.

Expanding our farm this year has been an amazing journey, and we couldn’t have done it without all of your support. Each bouquet you bought, every kind word you shared—it’s all helping us pass down the love of farming to the next generation.

Thank you for making our dream a reality. Here’s to the future, to family, and to keeping our roots strong!

Happy Halloween flower friends!

It’s been quiet on our page, but we’ve been busy here on the farm flipping beds for winter, digging dahlia tubers, and planting out cover crops.

Pictured below was one of our resident yellow garden spiders, who gracefully claimed any flower it spun its web on this summer. Nature’s own little guardian of the garden.

Wishing you all a safe and spooky Halloween!

The first heavy frost has hit, putting an official end to our growing season.

Now comes the busy task of tearing down and prepping our soil for next season.

In the midst of our harvest hustle, I had to stop and fill up my personal cup.

Don’t forget to make time yourself in the middle of life’s busy seasons.

And dahlias certainly never did anyone any harm.

Although our fresh flower season has come to an end, October is still a busy month on our farm.

We’re busy trying our hand at drying flowers, for future projects. Plus, we're hard at work planting spring flowers for next year and perennials that will bring even more color to the farm in seasons to come.

And once the much needed rain lets up, we’ll start ramping up our corn and soybean harvest. It’s been a difficult year with the drought, but we’ve been blessed with decent yields all around.
