I don’t even know where to begin. Truly. I can’t find the right words to explain how absolutely AMAZING the weekend was. The only thing that could have made it better would have been to meet him. (Although I WAS about three feet away from Rook -drummer- when I was walking back from the bathroom but left my phone with Carizma so I wouldn’t drop in porta potty lol) As a business- it was way beyond what I ever could have expected. I sold out of all the mystery bags I made- all the MGK keychains I made, almost all the MGK earrings I made- even the ones that were just color coordinated to songs/albums, all the bracelets, 16 out of the 20 kids bracelets I made, and probably 2/3 of the car charms I made. That’s only the MGK stuff. People were coming in saying their friend sent them. People came back a second time, some even a third. Seth and Carizma were both helping because it was nonstop people most of the day. Actual insanity! In the first 30 min of gates being open- I had more people than a whole day at a local event. Everyone was awesome, not one single bad interaction. (Unless you count the little kid I made cry 🤣. He wanted to buy my stuffed dog that is a “model” for my dog bandanas. I’m talking lip came out, tears rolling, snot bubbling cry. Sorry kid- my kids got me that and it looks like Freya. Not for sale) other than that- nothing but positivity and awesome people all day. I was moved to tears many times at the whole thing.
On a personal, super fan level- it was a day of epic proportions. Like- I honestly can’t explain it. To be there, to have the honor of being a vendor out of only like 20, to be surrounded by music and sunshine, on the water (Lake Erie. Sidenote- first time I’ve seen a Great Lake) to connect with so many fans, and to just be able to somewhat see and hear the show, I was good with not being up close. Usually I want as close as possible lol. THEN…the rain started. And I mean RAIN. Like monsoon rain. Sideways rain. People were running to take cover in my tent- but I was standing on a concrete block thing, singing and dancing not giving a damn about the rain as long as the music played on. My entire booth was drenched. There was no saving it because it came on so hard and so fast- so I didn’t stress or rush to pack up. Damage was done- who cares?! Enjoy the moment and clean up the fallout later lol. All I could do was laugh and cry happy tears and just VIBE. My heart was exploding.. like ..seriously. Best day ever. It was HOT. Like hot hot. People were passing out all over. I got a lil concerned cuz I was sooo hot but get kept getting chills all day. But it was adrenaline. We all kept hydrated and were fine. Couldn’t be mad. Couldn’t be upset about my stuff. Couldn’t be mad the show got cut short. It was just….incredible. There’s no other word. I sealed the end of the adventure today with a XX tattoo finally! Went in for a 2x2 inch flash tattoo and decided wtf why waste time with that? I EARNED the right to splurge and get what I really wanted. All the hours of work, the late nights the tears the stress- all in the past two weeks..yea get the damn tattoo.
I could continue to ramble on..and still can’t make anyone understand how monumental this weekend was for me. How much MGK means to me. How the music sparks so much joy in me. I’m reeling from it still. Between the success from a business standpoint and the personal impact- I am blown away. I will talk about this weekend forever!!! Here’s to a repeat next year!!!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🩷🤩🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷❌❌
