We have finished moving and have a lot of work at the cabin (Redbay, my tiny home rehab project on Village Creek). Couldn't imagine funner and more rewarding work than updating a waterfront fish camp and getting storage units ready for plein air shopping in the fall. 🎣🍂🍁🐊

But first - I need to exhale, settle in, and begin a project that will bring me much joy. I plan to paint each of The Highwaymen, and offer the individuals or collection for sale. There will be some porch picking between work hours. I will begin with Waylon. 🎨🖌🎸

I realize I haven't posted the finished Optimus Steel mural, or two other recent commissions... stay tuned! 🔥

Throwback to our first location in downtown Beaumont.

Taluka Trades is officially moved into our new Silsbee location! Now, the small matter of turning storage units into a shop.

Planning limited open weekends... one Thursday thru Saturday weekend each month - plus online shopping, appointments and events.

We'll announce the first one as soon as we're ready. Catch me outside!

WHITE BY VERA WANG · STERLING SILVER GOWN

An absolutely beautiful White by Vera Wang for David’s Bridal gown in the palest silvery gray satin. V-neck halter, structured pleated waist, full floor-length skirt and a gorgeous back with bow detail.

This is from the original White by Vera Wang collection, style VW360214.

Excellent pre-owned condition with a couple of very small imperfections near the bottom hem — nothing that takes away from her, and likely gone entirely if hemmed.

Size 2

Good morning from Redbay! 🛶

Recently I moved into an old cabin on Village Creek with an outdoor kitchen, an outdoor shower and a whole lot that needs work.

I’ve been elbow-deep in a toilet tank, rebuilding things, painting walls and floors, hauling things in and out and living creek life.

Years ago I read Peter Mayle’s A Year in Provence, his account of making a life in an old house in a new place. This ain't Provence, but I'll give Redbay a year and see where it takes me... A Year in Provence-ish.

I’m about a month behind, so a few earlier days at Redbay will show up here as I catch up. 🛶

Oh, it's not over. They say third location's a charm! 🐊
Three spaces, next to the vegetable stand, every weekend - starting up soon - SILSBEE, across from Southern Nurseries.
Stay tuned!

No power after the storm, you say? Try riding out the swamp apocalypse drought furnace while solo packing a U-Haul that develops transmission issues before your destination and then baking in the river bottom storage unit oven for 4 hours while things get sorted out. Here is a video of what I loaded & unloaded on trip 1.

I'll say this: U-Haul is doing everything in their power to make things right. They gave us a truck that is 35' long after the 15 footer. 👀🙏 ... from the most utilitarian liquor store in Texas. Candy, ci**rs, worms, lotto, b**r, "ic" and U-Hauls.

Thank God I'm used to the heat. And I solo packed this first round, because I didn't want any help, because emotions. Day two is happening now! 😁
