I have to warn you.

Don’t buy these. I hated them. Even at $4.97, don’t do it. And this is coming from someone who loves maple donuts - maple old fashioned are one of my favorites! But these maple donut crisps were sickeningly sweet. This actually surprised me given the sugar content isn’t terrible. But just one crisp needed to be accompanied by a TALL glass of milk to wash it all down. I do see where the company was going with with these; the crisps themselves do taste like a donut, and they’re genuinely crispy, like with layered textures. But I just can’t get over how sweet they are. As always, would love to discuss your thoughts if you’ve tried them, too!

ICYMI, Costco US announced via their IG page that they’re bringing the churro back to the food court (sigh, no, NOT the combo pizza we’ve all been patiently aka not so patiently waiting for).

I’m all for a good churro, BUT the churros in the announcement are the twisty ones!! Perhaps focus group of one here, but I did NOT like the twisty churros. I remember when they made their first appearance post Covid, and I basically ran to the warehouse for one. Tried it in the parking lot, and instead of a crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside delight, I got a crunchy cinnamon stick that flaked everywhere. I was NOT impressed and never bought another Costco food court churro since.

So, personally, I’m not so excited by the news of the churro’s return. I’ll still get one for science; perhaps I’ll be pleasantly surprised?

But Costco, stop messing with us, and just GIVE US BACK THE COMBO PIZZA!!!
