I don’t know why I’m like this. 🤣 I always think I leave enough yarn to weave it back in to my finished crochet projects, but alas, my yarn is too short. So if you’re like me, here’s a hack. But try to leave a longer tail.

A year ago I tested this sweet crochet pattern by Even though my son is almost 16 now, owls always remind me of his baby years. And his name is Oliver!

My WIP bin is overflowing. I only have two unused stitch markers. I am finishing a few works in progress before I go on vacation. I might bring one with me. So far I finished one crocheted apron. That’s how I have these two lonely stitch markers. 🤣

I finally finished one of my crochet projects that had been sitting around for ages! It’s a granny square apron that I was hoping to enter in the state fair. Unfortunately, I didn’t get it done on time because of a super busy summer, so she went into “time out.” But after I settled down and the swim season wrapped up, I decided to bring her out of her bin of shame. Haha. All the squares were done, just needed to be joined and the ends woven in. I still need to block it, but I’ll do that before I enter it into next year’s fair. I also have 9 extra squares. Should I add pockets? Like, an egg apron? Or should I just make something else with the squares?

I spent a good amount of time searching for my needle. I put it down when I was cutting a yarn tail and then took a progress picture of my crochet project. 30 minutes later, I pick up my phone to use the flashlight to look under the chair. As I’m looking under the chair, I’m wondering why my phone case feels weird. It was my needle stuck to the iPhone magnet. 🤣🤣🤣

I keep all of my unfinished crochet projects in bags along with hook and yarn. My bin holding my projects in time out is getting full. Let’s clear some space and finish some projects now that swim season is over. I have two weeks until I go on vacation and I’m hoping to finish a few.

Trying these crocheted water balloons in chenille yarn and let me tell you, weight matters! For gauge, that is! I used the same hook for all three balloons (a 5mm) but the red and white are a 6 (super bulky) and the blue is a 5 (bulky). They are all chonky, but the blue is noticeably smaller.

It’s raining. My kids have swim practice. I want to crochet. My hack? Use the kangaroo pouch of my rain hoodie to hold my yarn and keep it dry while I crochet!

In an effort to stay hydrated, I made this blueberry-lavender seltzer to sip while crocheting. I unintentionally color matched to my current project.

This is one of my favorite commissions ever. My friend had an idea to have characters related to the books she was planning on sharing with her first grade class and asked if I could help. This was the first set I made for her. She loves them, too and more importantly, the kids loved them, too! Best thing: she invited me to read to her class at the end of the year and they were amazed to see that I made them. I gave each student a crochet pocket hug to remember the day.
