This is truly one of my favorite parts of making a wallet. Sitting down at an incredibly powerful machine that can sew through layers of leather. It’s calming, satisfying and a joy. Anyone else a fan of sewing? Perhaps someday I’ll share my side hobby of refurbishing old sewing machines.

Dear friends, our home and shop are currently under a Level 2 evacuation warning. We are safe and prepared to leave immediately if needed. For the time being order production and shipping are paused as we focus on preparing our home and keeping our young kids safe and calm. Thank you for your support and understanding.

We are acutely aware of the comforts we still enjoy that far too many of our fellow Spokanites no longer have. The loss is staggering. We love this city and we are confident that in the aftermath of this tragedy we will see healing rise. This city will care for its own.

A little inspiration for your Monday afternoon. When I first started learning the leather trade at Holstine Saddlery, Scott told me to save my first attempt at tooling. The scrap piece on the left is dated December 17, 2013. I kept it for reference, and wow, what a difference time and practice makes! I still have a long way to go to get where I want to be, but it's equally important to reflect on where I started.
