Spring Lake Ace Hardware

We offer trusted brands, expert advice, and friendly service—everything you need for home, lawn, lake life, grills, gear, and great outdoor living. At the heart of Spring Lake Ace Hardware is a family story that began in 1955, when George Dean opened Northshore Hardware in North Muskegon. What started as a neighborhood hardware store grew into a family legacy—passed down from George to his sons Kevin, Greg, and Tim, and now proudly owned and operated by the third generation of the Dean family. In the mid-1970s, Northshore Hardware became part of the Ace Hardware cooperative, helping to expand the store’s offerings and bring trusted brands to the local community. While tools, hardware, and repairs were always a focus, the Dean family built its reputation on expert advice, a commitment to quality, and treating customers like neighbors. Over the years, one thing has remained constant: our love for hockey and hardware. That passion is even reflected in our store—you’ll find a skate sharpening machine tucked inside, ready for your next game or pond skate. In 2005, a dream to serve more communities became a reality with the opening of Spring Lake Ace Hardware. Now over 13,000 square feet, our store has grown to include a wide range of trusted brands and everyday essentials to support life on the lakeshore and beyond. Today, as we continue to grow, our vision remains rooted in the values George Dean began with: hard work, integrity, helpfulness, and pride in community. As a family-owned business, we hope to pass these values on to our own children—the fourth generation—while continuing to earn the trust of our neighbors. We’re a family-friendly, community-driven space where everyone—from DIY beginners to seasoned pros—can find the tools, advice, and friendly faces they need to get the job done. We’re so thankful to be your local hardware store and proud to be a part of the community. Whether you're tackling a big project or just need help finding the right screw, we’re here to help—with a smile and the know-how you can count on.
