Was out and about today and ran into Lumberyard Marketplace in Canton, Minnesota. A fun antique, vintage, clothing and locally made goods shop that’s worth a visit!

Recently had the opportunity to explore the attic of an old Victorian home. What treasures. All I could imagine was in the dark of night, those dresses from times past would come to life floating around the rafters in a ghostly dance.

Just came across these vintage Little Red Riding Hood tin toy plates while cleaning at my mom’s estate. I remember playing with these in the sandbox.

Here’s what I found out about them:

• Manufacturer: The Ohio Art
Company
• Era: Circa the 1930s
• Design: Blue background with a floral red border depicting Little Red Riding Hood in a blue dress and red cape with a wolf in the forest
• Material: Lithographed tin
• Value: Individual plates or small sets typically sell between $20 to $40
depending on the condition.

The trees haven’t changed yet… but with shorter days and longer nights, photosynthesis will stop and we will begin to enjoy beautiful colors like in our Blaze Orange Maples.  Looking forward to it!🍁

I remember playing with these little brass squirrels at my grandparent’s growing up. They were “squirreled” away in a display cupboard but got out today for a trip down memory lane. 🐿️🐿️

We came upon an estate sale with loads of decor from the 1970s, featuring ornate gold accents and matching mirror and candle sconces and knick knacks. The style is sometimes referred to Hollywood Regency, with heavy influences from Italian Baroque Revival and Mid-Century Maximalism. I have never been able to get into this style but we couldn’t pass up these two gems. Loved these mid century bent bamboo and woven wicker arm chairs with iron hairpin legs. Would love to find out if the maker is Paul McCobb. Might take some digging. 🤔
