In this building and in this room…250 years ago (+ 2 days).

An extraordinary group of patriots pledged their Lives, their Fortunes and their sacred Honor to forge a new Nation. One in which all men were created equal and endowed with certain unalienable rights…Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Importantly, they acknowledged Government did not provide these rights, but rather, these rights were bestowed upon its citizens by their Creator. And, importantly, they declared Government derived its just powers from the consent of its citizens - a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

We are fortunate to be the heirs of this grand experiment. May we nurture our founders’ vision, defend the principles upon which our Nation was founded and continue striving for a more perfect union!

Happy 250th Birthday, America! May God protect our military service men and women and continue to Bless the United States of America and all her citizens!

For us and for far too many, Memorial Day isn't about barbeques, beaches and pool parties. Instead, it's a solemn day of remembrance. One that calls us to honor and remember the best of us. Those who gave their very lives for our Nation and its' citizens. It's not to say we shouldn't enjoy those 'official start of summer' activities, but we think it's worth taking a moment to honor the sacrifice these brave men and women have made on our behalf.

If you're fortunate and haven't been touched by such a loss, then we ask you to click on the link below to learn more about Captain Matthew 'Burney' Bancroft, USMC. A son, husband, father, classmate, and fellow Marine to all those lucky enough to have been in his orbit...and a friend to anyone he met. No one could better model that phrase - 'the best of us'. Sadly, this is the 25th Memorial Day we're honoring his memory instead of raising a glass at one of those 'official start to summer' events.

Supporting the Families of our Fallen Service Men & Women is an Act of TRUE PATRIOTISM!

As we’ve previously communicated, the recipient of our annual charitable contribution is the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. We’ve had several customers ask over the past several months how they could donate directly to this organization.

With active combat taking place in the Middle East, we thought this was a good time to provide that information. As we close our 5th full calendar year in business, we are excited to once again donate our annual charitable contributions to:

Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (www.fallenpatriots.org)

This organization provides scholarships to the families of fallen service men and women. Recipients use these scholarships for post-secondary education at college, community college and trade schools.

Children of Fallen Patriots was founded in 2002 and has maintained a steadfast focus on this Mission. They believe in transparency and results, which are key reasons Charity Navigator awarded them a perfect 100% score...a feat achieved by less than 1% of all charitable organizations!

With your support, we were able to send a $3,050 contribution at the end of December! This brings our total donations to date to $16,495. Read the story below of a Children of Fallen Patriots scholarship recipient!

We remain humbled and thankful to have so many loyal fans who have joined us in supporting this Mission – whether through buying Commitment Coffee products and/or by sharing their endorsement of our company with their family, friends and acquaintances!

We wanted to take a moment before the day ended to remember and honor the friend who inspires us still, Captain Matthew ‘Burney’ Bancroft, USMC.

His sacrifice was made 24 years ago and was far too early for an incredible Marine with so much to offer.

He represents so many who gave their lives in the years that followed the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001.

While this is the day, more than any other, that we reflect on our loss...we also remember his friendship, his loyalty, his devotion to family and the many memories we each carry with us. It's a time to reflect on how he's made us better people and to give thanks for the blessing of the time we had with him. We'll always miss you, Matt...and we'll never forget you. Semper Fi!
