Caleres' Giant Shoe Sculpture to Move from Clayton to Lambert Airport | St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The giant shoe that's been outside the Clayton headquarters of global footwear retailer Caleres for years will soon step into a new location at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

Caleres, formerly known as Brown Shoe Co., is donating the 10-foot-high cast aluminum sculpture of 2,000 women's high-heeled shoes to Lambert because it won't have room for it at its new offices two blocks east.

"There just was not a place for it," Caleres spokesperson Kelly Malone said in an email. "The next best thing was for us to donate it to the community and have it placed somewhere where even more people can enjoy it."

Plans call for the sculpture, officially called Shoe of Shoes, to be moved and reinstalled in the coming weeks on a grassy area just west of the exit doors on the lower level of Lambert's Terminal 2.
