It’s the third week of the semester...

Schedules are getting busier. Homework is piling up. The excitement of move-in has settled down..and a little homesickness may be settling in.

It might be the perfect time to send your Penn Stater a hug from home. Remind them that you believe in them. That they’ve got this. And that even when life gets busy, there’s always time for a little joy — a fresh-baked cookie or an unexpected surprise from home.

Send a Happy Valley Hug and brighten their day.

You pick the package. You pick the date. We’ll hand-deliver the hug.

📦 Move-in is officially ramping up in Happy Valley! 💙

Traffic on North Atherton is slow, Target is packed...the dorms are filling up, and Penn Staters are settling into their new homes away from homes.

There’s SO much excitement this week... but we know saying goodbye can be a little tough, too. For students and parents!

That’s exactly why we created our Call Your Mom and Call Your Dad boxes. 💙

Fresh-baked cookies, fun surprises, and games to share with new roommates and friends — all packed up with your personal note and hand-delivered right to your Penn Stater.

Our social media game is weak...but our care package game is strong! 😂

In all seriousness, we know we've been quiet lately, but we have been busy so far this summer dreaming up new care packages for the upcoming school year. We CAN'T WAIT to deliver a little bit of love on campus again.

As the start of the fall semester approaches, be sure to follow us to stay up to date on all of our new offerings.

Have a care package idea you'd love to see? Drop it in the comments below!

Campus is quiet today.

Exams are finished. Graduation ceremonies are complete. Dorm rooms are empty, and another year in Happy Valley has come to a close.

To all of this year’s graduates — congratulations. 🎓 We wish you so much success and happiness as you chase your dreams into your next chapter.

And to every Penn Stater who made it through another year of classes, exams, challenges, growth, and memories… congratulations to you, too. 💙

Thank you for letting Happy Valley Hugs be a small part of your year. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Happy Valley again soon.

So many new followers this week—we are so glad you’re here 💙

If you’re new to Happy Valley Hugs, we can’t wait for you to get to know us. We started this business almost a year ago with a simple idea: to spread a little extra happiness around Happy Valley.

We’re Penn State professors… and parents of teens… so we get it.

We know that sometimes college students just need a little love from home—and sometimes parents just want to feel connected to their kid during the big moments (and the small ones, too).

We believe in big celebrations.
We believe in over-the-top birthdays.
We believe in holidays that make you feel like a kid again.

And we believe that a handwritten card and a little chocolate can cure a lot 💙

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, fun-filled happiness to students in Happy Valley—and we look forward to delivering to your Penn Stater soon 💙

Take a look around—we’d love to help you send a little Happy Valley love 📦
