Grasshopper employee Gigi Gastevich! The goodies and good vibes you loved from Grasshopper Goods remain, with a renewed focus on handmade products from Midwest makers.

I’m thrilled to welcome Stoughton artist Gary Karl Nauman to Kismetic for a pop up shop during downtown Stoughton’s July Fourth Fridays event! Gary is a comic artist, printmaker, and art educator whom you might know as the author of the comic books, which chronicle the adventures of Vidar the Viking around Stoughton. He applies the same eye for color and line to his prints, which range from hand cut woodblock to letterpress, and often depict scenic locations around Stoughton and Wisconsin with a nod to retro national parks iconography. Gary will be here with a selection of prints, comics, and cards to shop, and I’ll offer light refreshments - we can’t wait to see you Friday!

How fun that we get to welcome the 7+ Lag Stevne to Stoughton this weekend! This gathering draws people of Norwegian ancestry from all over the country to visit with others from their “lag,” which, as I tentatively understand it, is a regional ancestral clan. Over centuries, these descendants of Norwegian immigrants have held onto their lag identities and gather regularly to keep their unique traditions alive. Velkommen alle sammen! 🇳🇴
