The Wren, tiny bird with a big voice.
Walking through the woods today, their call rose above all the other noise!
They always amaze me as so often you can't even see them.
Nature is very clever. Tiny birds need to be heard so they make up for their size.
A lesson to us all. No matter how small we may feel, we can still do something.
This is hand painted on silver birch bark, 7cm x 7cm.
Tiny bird on tiny art!

International Sloth day 2026
An algae covered animal that is tree dwelling so very difficult to spot in the wild.
Unfortunately habitat loss & fragmentation causes so many problems for sloths.
Having a diet of mostly leaves, which takes a long time sometimes weeks to digest means they use a slower pace to conserve energy.
They are very fussy about hygiene too so descend from the tree to go to the toilet on the ground.
They are not built to walk well on the ground so become very vulnerable.
Thankfully charities such as The Sloth Conservation Foundation are working to provide sloth crossings above roads.
I saw examples of these in Costa Rica which were joining fragments of forest either sides of roads.
This painting is on a small A5 canvas ready for a local exhibition 13th Ipswich Sea Scouts Events on 28th & 28th November.
I'm enjoying creating smaller art for smaller spaces!

Long tail Tit
The bird sounds in the woods are changing.
So many Long tail t**s are starting to come together & their little calls fill the air.
I'm lucky enough to have them feed in my garden although they are very nervous so don't stay long.
This one is painted on a little piece of silver birch bark.
I had this mad idea to use bark as a canvas! 7cm x7cm
One of the most difficult surfaces to paint on.
Affordable mini art suitable for small spaces!
£18 which includes an easel.

Fundraising Robins
The next event where I shall be selling my fundraising Robins, for St Elizabeth Hospice will be at Whatfield village hall, IP76QU 10-4pm
This event is raising money for Survivors after Stroke.
Events for charities are always my preferred events as we can achieve so much together.
So many of us will know someone affected by a stroke, so having charities that can offer ongoing support is vital.
The lovely team behind this event spend all year-round preparing for this & put on such a great day.
It is very personal for them too.
Fundraising Robins available for £8 each with 50% of the sales going to my local hospice.

Who was watching who Colchester Zoo
A start of something new as my grand daughter starts home schooling. As part of this, we headed to the zoo for the home school sessions.
This month was looking partly at behaviours.
As an animal lover I was excited to accompany her.
We spent time observing different animals to identify behaviours.
The chimp enclosures gave us a surprise. On a wet rainy day, turns out they get grumpy & kick off a bit just like children on wet play!
Taking time to pause & watch, we observed many different behaviours. Weaver birds starting to weave nests, a king vulture who like close up people watching & a cheetah that was curious for a close look of my grand daughter's umbrella!
Special times shared.
And there was a very young chimp who was so cute!

Bearded t**s RSPB Minsmere 💙
What do you do if you wake up really early on the morning of a market on a nature reserve?
Get up & get out & see the sunrise ofcourse!
What a beautiful time to walk. Red deer stags were billowing so loudly, it was magic.
The reeds were full of ping ping sounds but the bearded t**s were so difficult to see.
It doesn't matter what month or what time, Minsmere always has something to see or hear.
It was the perfect way to start my day.
This piece is painted on silver birch bark. 7cm x 7cm.
Sold with a little easel. Prices start at £18.
Happy to take commissions if there is an animal or bird someone particularly loves.
Perfect for small spaces!
