Happy August, all! The summer has been flying by. I hope everyone had time to enjoy the sunny weather out there today.
We're ringing in a month of fantasy at your Superior bookstore. The magic kicks off this Saturday with Scales & Tales.
Join us from Noon-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 for an afternoon of fantasy-themed fun at Foxes & Fireflies Booksellers and Sarah's Serpentarium.
Add in an author double-header, and it will be a busy day with a little something for everyone.

Guess what we have in store for you?
Artist Winona Nelson will be visiting your Superior bookstore for a pre-Excalibur Con meet and greet.
From 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, Winona will be signing copies of "All the Stars in the Sky," an amazing children's book that she illustrated with author Art Coulson.
It earned the 2026 Minnesota Book Award for Children's Literature. Come on down and meet the illustrator, who is also known for her Magic the Gathering art.
We can't wait to give Winona a very Superior welcome. Complete with cookies.

Stop by Foxes & Fireflies Booksellers for storytime with Jill Shane.
Tonight from 6-7 p.m. we'll be reading about some interesting insects, followed by a snack and craft.
Both craft options feature my favorite insect -- can you guess what it is? I'll give you a hint. They light up summer nights in the Northland.
Storytime is free and open to all ages.
