This was my first year entering. All five submissions were accepted into the show and four won ribbons!

Tragedy struck this past weekend as I dropped my old trusty hook on blacktop. The glazing on the tip has chipped off and is now snagging on yarn.

This hook has existed in my craft supplies for so long that I don’t remember when I got it or where it came from. It’s entirely possible that I stole it from my mom when I was in high school.

I have worked with this hook so much previously that the color has rubbed off on the center and I wrapped it in vet wrap to continue use.

I will be mourning the loss of my most used hook… and simultaneously going on vacation. Yes, this post is actually to let you know the Etsy shop will be closed through Labor Day. 😆

Recently, I’ve been reminded how helpful some of my items can be in summer, so I’ve put them on sale for the remainder of July!

On one of the hottest days of the year, I wore a tank top to a doctor’s office. The a/c was so cold! It would have been the perfect opportunity for a capelet.
This past weekend I was by a campfire wishing I had brought my cardigan.

I’ve noticed some comments at the last few markets about “how fast” I can make things, especially connected to my pricing, so I thought it was time to address it.

I always tell people the number of active work hours it takes to make something. Crochet requires downtime to care for my body and not injure myself.
When thinking about why something may cost what it does, think about what you might be paid per hour, and you’ll realize my work is a bargain!

Hopefully this post will help explain my process.
