It’s bead time! Finishing off a large batch of rope pieces on my week off of teaching. We’re off to Ocean Shores this weekend, then back at the Des Moines Waterfront Farmer’s Market for our last two Saturdays of the season. (On to fall and holiday markets after that!)

I’m back to making concentric circle platters after a week of trivets and coasters. We are prepping for Ocean Shores Labor Day weekend, along with two last farmer’s markets in Des Moines, Fall Harvest Festival at Thurston County Fairgrounds Sept 26-27, and Salmon Days the first weekend of October. Following that, catch us twice at Skagit County Fairgrounds in Mount Vernon, Best of the Northwest in Seattle, and TideFest in Gig Harbor. This should take care of most of Western Washington!

We are excited to be headed to Ocean Shores in two weeks! Next Saturday, I’m taking a market break to play chamber music with some old and new friends. See you at DMWFM the second and third Saturdays of September!

I’ve used some spare minutes away from my sewing machine to wrap rope for tiny and mini bowls until the bag was full! Time to start sewing.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks on a personal level, but we are back at the Farmer’s Market the next three Saturdays with reliable wheels! Come over to see my new BIG coasters, magnetic pins, and new colors of eyeglass holders. A big order of batiks from Paducah arrived, so stay tuned for beautiful wave platters, bread baskets, and small wrapped items next week!

My customers and friends often ask how I make sizes consistently. It’s not magic! It’s math. This is quilter’s paper tape (washi) marked at 1/4” spacing. My rope is primarily 1/4” and 5/16”.
