One of my favorite views. 🤍✨

When I opened En Light, I hoped it would be a place where people could slow down for a minute, discover a new favorite scent, find a great book, and leave feeling just a little lighter than when they walked in.

Over the years, this little shop has brought so many wonderful people into my life and created so many conversations and connections that never would have happened otherwise.

We’re closed today, but I’ll be back in the shop tomorrow. If you’re out enjoying the harbor this weekend, I’d love to see you.

A sunny Friday in our sweet little harbor calls for something green and fresh. ☀️🌿 Meet Tomato Vine.

Summer doesn’t always look like sunshine.

Sometimes it looks like rain on the windows, a book you’ve already read once, and a candle burning in the middle of the afternoon.

Sunlight was inspired by that feeling.

Bright citrus, green tea, lemongrass, soft florals, and warm summer air.

The limited ceramic vessels have been surprisingly popular and there are only a few left.

Shh, I have a confession.

I think tomato vines smell even better than tomatoes.

Every summer I brush past the plants in my garden as I’m watering and wish I could bottle that scent—the green leaves warmed by the sun, the earth beneath them, the feeling that the whole season is still stretching out in front of you and it’s so wholesome.

Some scents are meant to smell like flowers.

But this one smells like the garden. One of my very favorite places in the summer.

Green. Earthy. Alive. A little unexpected.

Maybe it’s for gardeners. Maybe it’s for cooks. Maybe it’s for people who still remember the smell of picking tomatoes from the backyard as kids. Or maybe it’s just for anyone who believes summer should smell like something real.

A little shop update ✨

The shop will be closed tomorrow while I spend the whole entire day celebrating Max’s 8th grade graduation. 🎓

If you were planning to stop by, just send me a message. I’m always happy to arrange porch pickup or help however I can.

Summer is arriving in the shop:

Surprise! A limited pour if one of my favorites: Sunlight ☀️

Every summer I find myself reaching for this scent again and again.

With notes of lemongrass, jasmine, green tea, orange, ozone, and soft musk, it reminds me of sunshine through the trees, open windows, and long evenings that stretch a little later than expected.

This year I poured a small batch into these beautiful ceramic vessels, and I love how simple and timeless they feel.

The kind of candle you burn all summer and keep on the shelf long after it’s gone.

✨I’ve been counting down the days until I could return to the haunting world of Lady Tremaine, and today’s the perfect day-sunshine, a little breeze, wafts of garden flowers.

I read Lady Tremaine this winter and absolutely loved it.

It’s atmospheric and immersive, with crumbling manor houses, deep forests, royal intrigue, and one unforgettable peregrine falcon. But what really stayed with me was the way the author writes every character with such empathy. What could have been a simple fairytale retelling becomes a much richer story about power, patriarchy, motherhood, survival, and the stories we tell about women.

And if you’ve spent any time here, you know I love me the books, the forest, birds, and strong female characters.

I can’t wait to revisit this one with book club and hear everyone’s thoughts. 🤍📚🌿

✨Good books, great conversation, smart ladies, so much laughing, and so much fun. 📚

May’s book was Yesteryear, and it gave us a lot to talk about- what a twisty, turny, funny, disturbing and well-written book it was. Almost 6 years of book club and somehow it just keeps getting better.
