The bottleneck is rarely the work itself. It's the unspoken trade-off sitting right behind it.
Most Productivity Perfectionists I meet pride themselves on ex*****on. Tasks get checked off. Deadlines are met. And yet: something stalls. It's the sensation of looking at winning moment and knowing intuitively that something just isn't right.
Here's what I've learned: leaders don't have to lack capability to take a pause. There's a trade-off they haven't named yet. If it's not named then it can't be deemed positive or negative.
The breakthrough doesn't come from working harder. It comes from naming the constraint.
Try this the next time you or your team hits a blocked. Ask "What's the one thing I'm not saying about this?"
The answer will tell you exactly where to negotiate next.
What's one trade-off you've been avoiding naming? ↓
