Sometimes moving forward looks a whole lot like going back to where it all began. ❤️
22 years ago (iykyk the importance of that number around here), I owned a little resale shop in Morristown. I loved the thrill of finding treasures, giving things a second life, and creating a place where people never knew what they might find when they walked through the door.
Life took me in a lot of different directions after that. Businesses grew, some closed, things changed, and new chapters were written….but that little resale shop never left my heart.
This isn’t a new idea, we actually posted about it over a year ago. We were planning, tagging, and preparing behind the scenes. My Momma was a huge part of those plans. She tagged thousands of items, helping me get everything ready for the day we would open. My world flipped upside down when I suddenly lost her. I have sold some of the items over the past year, but I wasn’t ready to completely part with the final things she had tagged at the store. I have held on to nearly 40 racks full of clothing
I’m following my heart. It’s time. Knowing Mom, she’d be beyond aggravated if I DIDN’T go through with it after she tagged all that stuff. 🩷
So after 22 years, I’m going back to my roots and finally opening 22nd & Thrift. 🛍️
And because apparently I’m feeling extra nostalgic… CC Belle is going back to its roots, too! 😂
CC Belle will be moving back into its original space in the building—the very space where so many memories were made and so much of this crazy journey began! CC’s dressers are once again the checkout counter and you’ll notice a few more changes the next time you stop in.
This next chapter feels less like starting something new and more like coming home.
Here’s to going back to my roots (as my first coworker…(I don’t like the word employee)…described it in a conversation we had not long ago), following my heart, and seeing where this next adventure takes us.
It is going in the old Granny Jean’s Ice Cream space and yes, I’ve been asked “Why?” 5,000 times regarding closing it. The only thing I feel led to say is that it is beyond important to me that the companies we choose to work with reflect the values that are important to us. Unfortunately, we were at a point where I no longer feel that alignment existed with the values of some of the employees at our ice cream supplier. The product was beyond amazing and we wish them nothing but the best!
More details coming VERY soon about 22nd & Thrift… and I cannot wait to welcome y’all in at the new space (possibly next week 😘)! 🩷
