No matter how old they get, a part of me still sees the little child who once reached for my hand, needed help tying a shoe, or called out for me from the other room. ❤️
They grow up, build lives of their own, make their own choices, and sometimes live miles away. But that little switch inside a parent never really turns off.
You still wonder if they made it home safely. You still notice when their voice sounds a little different on the phone. You still lie awake thinking about something they told you earlier, even when they said, “Don’t worry, I’m fine.” 😊
I think that’s one of the strange parts of being a parent. Your job changes, but the love doesn’t.
You learn to give advice only when it’s wanted, to step back when they need space, and to trust that you raised them well enough to handle their own lives.
But caring about them? That never stops. ❤️
They may be adults to the rest of the world, but in a parent’s heart, they will always be your child.
