I bought this Oxford shirt years ago, when I was still working as a retail manager and my children were in grade school.

I actually bought two styles, but this one caught my attention because of the collar. Even then, I was drawn to an unexpected detail on a familiar silhouette—the same kind of detail I love incorporating into my own designs today.

And I still wear it.

We’ve become accustomed to clothing passing quickly through our closets. But some clothes stay with us—not simply because they survive, but because we chose something we genuinely loved in the first place.

For only having less than a month to pull this off I’m very proud of myself.

But the search goes on for that sustainable fashionista who is very chic while at the same time, she’s very concerned with the health of the environment and the harmful effects of fast and wasteful fashion.
