This is a striking piece of Fluorite, from the famous Fujian Province in China, which is renowned for "stepped" or "alien" crystal formations. The combination of the deep purple and green hues, along with the complex geometric growth, makes this a high-quality collector's piece. Instead of forming smooth cube faces, this crystal grew in a series of staircase-like ridges. This happened because the edges of the crystal grew faster than the center of the faces.

You can see distinct "phantom" layers where the color shifts from a deep, saturated purple to a translucent sea-foam green. This indicates changes in the mineral's chemistry or temperature during its formation.

The piece has a vitreous (glass-like) lustre, with some faces showing a slightly "drusy" or matte texture due to the millions of tiny steps.
