This is your friendly reminder to come visit with us at the Thompson Falls Farmers Market tomorrow from 4–6 PM at Rose Garden Park! 🌱

Harlow Ranch Fire Prevention Training 🔥🌲

We’re making sure our team is trained and confident operating all of our fire prevention equipment. This week’s training focused on the skidgine.

A skidgine is essentially a logging skidder equipped for firefighting, allowing crews to take water and firefighting equipment into timber and rough terrain where a traditional fire engine may not be able to go.

This week was about hands-on experience, learning the machine, and making sure our team feels confident operating it when it matters most.

This sound was WAY too good to pass up… 😂

Now that we have your attention, a lot of people call them “buffalo,” but here’s the catch… they’re actually BISON! 🦬

So what’s the difference?! 👀

American bison are native to North America, while true buffalo, like African buffalo and water buffalo, are native to Africa and Asia. They’re completely different animals, even though “buffalo” has been a common name for bison for hundreds of years.

Now you can officially say you know the difference between a bison and a buffalo! 🤗
