Between yesterday and today we got over 40lbs of food from our garden. I absolutely love this. We have had an incredible year in the garden. Things are barely starting to ripen up and I’m preparing myself for the chaos that comes with the final harvest. Send help. Will pay in veggies. 🥕

We are officially down to a single point of lay pullet that we weren’t going to keep in our flock. Our last few excess birds were picked up yesterday and selling a lone hen doesn’t make sense so she will stay behind. A huge THANK YOU to everyone that has purchased eggs, chicks, pullets or hens. Anything really! Without you, we wouldn’t be able to keep bringing in and caring for animals that need a home. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes here to provide not just feed, but shelter and vet care for when those emergencies pop up (like they always do). I apologize if my post regarding payment was harsh- but if you drive 6 hours round trip to come grab some birds and “forgot to grab money” it’s difficult for me to send you to town that’s 35 minutes away to get cash at the ATM if Venmo and PayPal aren’t an option. We truly do try to be flexible and have let everyone leave with their birds trusting they will take care of it. I don’t think I’m asking too much, but I truly am sorry if I offended anyone. Apparently I need to take a course on human interaction. This is why I’m better with animals. 😥

We will have pasture raised chicken available for sale. This was our first round of meat birds and we learned a lot and will be continuing to offer these. These were raised here from day 1 and never saw a bad day (unless you count the day we had a flash flood). Very limited selection available as we are only a 2 person team over here. I will inventory everything and list it all here. We packaged the chicken as:
-Whole birds
- Drumsticks and thighs
- Wings
We will also have freeze dried chicken feet for sale. Delicious treats for your pups. Those should be available in 2 weeks or so as each batch takes 3.5 days to make.

A very cute kitten picture to detract from the post itself.
Something we feel we have to announce now that it has happened one too many times. Effective immediately- absolutely NO orders will leave the property without full payment prior to loading anything up. Any special orders will need to be prepaid so I don’t get left with special made items/special hatch birds to try to find a new buyer for. I understand things happen, but we don’t go to target and ask them if we can pay them later once we’re leaving with our product in hand, why do we ask that of someone that doesn’t have the capital that a corporation does.
This policy goes for every item we sell, from birds to beanies. We put in our own money in good faith and ask the same of our customers.
We have a guest WiFi now at the shop so people can log in to Venmo/Paypal whatever they need to make their payments.
I hate that I even have to make this post but unfortunately, too many people have taken advantage of our kindness and have left with birds and/or products and then take months to pay for the items if at all.
Thank you for your help with this matter.

Ok! So far this is the lineup of where to find us this fall/winter season. We will have our best selling sourdough bread bags, our whole new lineup of Arnica products, beanies galore as well as handmade sweaters, as well as wool and fiber from our little flock. We have two more markets we’re waiting to hear back from so we will update this once we get word. Come on out and join us by shopping local and supporting small businesses.
