What a sweet little chapter.

August gave me the space to slow down, rest and reflect on the year and a half we spent in our first brick and mortar.

That tin shed taught me so much.

I learned how to run a shop. How to share the stories behind our pieces in a new way. How to somehow fit years of Cultural Threads into 900 square feet and make it feel beautiful.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something I never expected.

Cultural Threads has collectors. You know who you are.

I began hearing clients call themselves collectors of our pieces. People who have followed along, added pieces over the years and recognize each one for what it truly is. Something special, made by hand from raw material to final product, with a story and a person behind it.

Cultural Threads may be a small brand, but you have shown me the mighty community that has grown around this work in the Andes, here in Truckee Tahoe and in homes around the world.

So mostly, I just want to say thank you.

Thank you for showing up, for sharing your stories, for your encouragement and for seeing the beauty and value in what we create. Thank you for such a beautiful chapter and for continuing to walk alongside Cultural Threads into whatever comes next.

Some chapters are meant to grow us, teach us and show us things we couldn’t have seen before.

The little tin shed was certainly one of them.

If Fermina only knew…

The scarf she hand knit in the Peruvian Andes found its way to Lake Tahoe, where Narya Phatak showed us just how versatile it can be.

What a sweet way to start the summer! 🌞

Thank you, Truckee Tahoe, for the incredible support you’ve shown.

Back in May, I stood in the Peruvian Andes alongside the Quechua artisan women who handcraft every piece you find in our shop. Together, we invited you to support Cultural Threads during Best of Truckee Tahoe.

Today, there is no doubt that Truckee Tahoe believes in what we do. To see my hometown community value the work of these artisan families and the pieces they create means more than I can put into words.

With your support, Cultural Threads will continue connecting the Peruvian Andes and Truckee Tahoe, bringing heirloom quality handcrafted goods from one mountain community to another. 🤍
