You don’t always need a huge objective to make it worth going. Rachel Arst McCullough and her friend Gretchen proved that on a recent overnight backpack in the Lakes Basin area, where day one was just one mile in and that was plenty. In 100-degree heat, that short hike led straight to a lake, and the whole afternoon became about swimming and finding shade instead of racking up miles.

Meet the beneficiary of this year’s Labor Day Rep Sample Sale, Send It Foundation

Founded right here in Truckee, Send It Foundation provides 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘀, creating opportunities to ski, bike, climb and get outside together.

Send It was founded by Truckee local and outdoor enthusiast Jamie Schou, who was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in 2012. Throughout his two-year battle, Jamie kept chasing the mountains, water and trails, living each day fully until his passing in 2014.

His belief that “𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗮𝘆” 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 lives on through Send It and every adventure they create, giving participants a chance to take on new challenges, connect with people who understand what they’re going through and experience the strength and joy that can come from time outside.

On 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟱, every purchase at our Rep Sample Sale will help support Send It Foundation and the work they do.

The timing is extra fitting because September also marks 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗗𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, Send It’s annual fundraising campaign, where participants take on physical challenges throughout the month to raise money for future Send It adventures.
