Good Evening Blossoms ❤️
It’s time for Sweet Tea & Caramel 🤎
Pull up a chair, grab a glass, and let’s fill our cups together!
This week, Blossoms, I am so grateful to be tired.
I know. That sounds a little funny, doesn’t it?
But as I sat down today after what has been an incredibly full week, I started thinking about all of the reasons I am tired.
I’m tired because the kitchen has been busy. Because there have been orders to fill and caramel to make and pies to bake. Because this weekend brought the Black Forest Festival and so many of you through our little cabin doors. Because there were Littles out front learning, growing and making me proud. Because there were conversations and hugs and familiar faces and brand-new ones.
And when I started looking at it that way, being tired suddenly felt a whole lot different.
Because so much of what has worn me out this week is made up of things I once hoped for.
I think sometimes we get so caught up in getting through the busy seasons of life that we forget to look around while we’re standing right in the middle of them.
We tell ourselves we’ll rest when the list is finished.
We’ll slow down when things settle.
We’ll enjoy it when there isn’t quite so much to do.
But goodness, that list is never really finished, is it?
There will always be another load of laundry. Another email to answer. Another errand to run. Another thing that needs our attention.
And I’m beginning to realize that maybe the goal isn’t to finally reach some magical place where everything is done.
Maybe it’s learning to recognize the life happening in the middle of all of it.
Last week, we talked about wearing the new clothes, using the good dishes and not saving the good things for someday. And I’ve thought about that a lot this week.
Because I think this is part of it, too.
This is my someday.
These long days in the kitchen. These weekends at the cabin. These little faces behind the lemonade stand. These people I get to work beside. These Blossoms who have somehow become such an important part of my life.
This is the life I once wondered if I could build.
And sometimes, it makes me really tired. 😂
But tonight, instead of wishing the tired away, I’m choosing to see everything underneath it.
I’m grateful for the work.
I’m grateful for the people.
I’m grateful for the full days.
And I’m grateful for a life that gives me so many reasons to need a little rest at the end of them.
So tonight, I’m giving myself permission to sit down.
The list will still be there tomorrow.
Tonight, I’m going to fill my cup with gratitude for everything that made me tired enough to need the chair.
And Blossoms, so much of that gratitude belongs to you.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for walking through our little cabin doors. Thank you for supporting our Littles and cheering them on. Thank you for choosing something made by our hands to take home to your families. Thank you for the conversations, the hugs, the laughter and the kindness. Thank you for taking time out of your days to spend a little bit of them with us.
You have given me so many reasons to be tired.
And goodness, what a gift that is. ❤️
There was a time when I could only hope that people would show up for this little dream of mine. And now, week after week, you do.
I don't ever want to become so accustomed to that that I forget what it means.
So if my feet ache tonight and my body is asking me to sit down, I’m going to listen. And while I’m sitting here, I’m going to remember just how fortunate I am to have something worth getting tired for.
And if you’re tired tonight too, maybe take a minute and think about what’s underneath your tired.
There just might be something there that you’re awfully grateful for, too.
Thank you, Blossoms, for giving me so many reasons to be tired.
I will be forever grateful that you showed up. ❤️
Xoxo
Liz ♥️
