A brief state-of-the-union with a sampling of our collection's fresh ✨glamour shots✨

This is shaping up to be an exciting breeding season so far! Here's a peek of what's in our incubators:

Ball Pythons
✨het clown TSK axanthic x same from JD Constriction
✨mahogany het pied (clown) x GHI pied

Western Hognoses
✨arctic superconda het snow x same
✨conda het swiss chocolate pos het axanthic lavender x same from JMG Reptile
✨het leucistic pos het albino x same from Fox Science

Keep an eye out for eggs from super russo x same and conda hypo x watermelon line axanthic as well!

We've recently started working with a partner to keep our "dirty" adult population of breeders brought in from other collections in a completely separate facility from where eggs are incubated and babies are raised. This biosecurity measure ensures we keep any communicable diseases that are hard to detect contained and we can work towards a "clean" breeding population of holdbacks... within the next decade, hopefully. 😂

I've been toying around with writing an article on our biosecurity practices to prevent nidovirus and cryptosporidium; would you like to see something like that?

Long time, no see, I realize, but life is unrelenting. I'll try to be more consistent with posting here and in our local groups, Michigan Exotics, Michigan Ball Pythons, and Michigan Colubrids, which you should check out if you haven't already joined. There are lots of resources in the pinned posts.

❄️ Epsilon - Arctic Superconda Het Snow Western Hognose Snake

Produced by The Vivarium from Boba Tea (axanthic arctic conda) x Orange Juice (albino conda). Pictured in 2025 and 2023. This lovely lass was our first hint her father may be carrying a surprise gene. Her and several hatchlings looked oddly dark and almost axanthic compared to their siblings right out of the egg. Arctic can be a subtle gene, but we found it out in the end!
