First Aid Every Fashion Designer Should Know 📌
A sewing space is a place for creativity, but accidents can happen too
From needle pricks and cuts to minor burns from the pressing iron am actually a victim of these😩
Here are a few basic first-aid tips every fashion designer should know:
🩸 Cuts: Clean the wound with clean running water, apply gentle pressure if it’s bleeding, and cover with a clean dressing.
🔥 Minor burns: Cool the affected area under cool running water for about 20 minutes. Avoid applying toothpaste, butter or oil.
🪡 Needle injuries: Clean the area with soap and water. If the wound is deep or the needle breaks inside, seek medical attention.
😵 Fainting: Help the person lie down safely and check that they are breathing normally. Don’t give food or drink to someone who is unconscious🧏🏻♀️
🧰 Have a first-aid container nearby, it doesn’t have to be a fancy or expensive first-aid box. A clean, properly labelled container or covered plastic with basic first-aid supplies, kept in a convenient and easily accessible place, can be useful.
Your sewing space should be a place for creativity, but safety should always come first my fellow sew mate❤️
