Our DEKA brand has a legacy all of us can be proud of. But you may be wondering, where did the name “DEKA” come from anyway?

Back in 1947, our founders, DeLight Breidegam Jr. and his father, had been steadily building their business for a year, and a new member was added to their crew, Karl Gasche. The three men, with their tenacity, skills, and ingenuity propelled East Penn ahead.

When it came time to name the company’s brand, they took the “DE” from DeLight and the “KA” from Karl, and the DEKA brand was born. What a wonderful tribute to the people who started it all!

Almost 80 years later, East Penn is still proud to carry the Deka name as we continue to build top-quality products that power the world around us.
