✨📸 Sometimes photography is less about perfection… and more about making something weird, dreamy, and FUN.

These photos were taken using a 5R multi-image lens filter — a creative filter that splits and repeats parts of your image to create that trippy, layered, vintage-inspired effect 👀

Filters like this became especially popular decades ago as photographers experimented with ways to create unique effects in-camera long before Photoshop existed. And honestly? There’s still something really cool about getting creative practically instead of digitally.

The best part is that effects like this force you to slow down and think differently about composition, lighting, and movement. Suddenly everyday scenes start looking like album covers, movie stills, or dream sequences 😅✨

💙📸 Happy Father's Day from all of us at The Shutterbug!

Today we're celebrating all the dads, grandpas, father figures, and mentors who taught us new skills, encouraged our hobbies, and helped create so many of our favorite memories.

We're also giving a special shoutout to the "Father of The Shutterbug." More than 55 years ago, a love of photography grew into a community that's still bringing photographers together today. We're grateful for the foundation that made The Shutterbug what it is and for everyone who has been part of that journey along the way.

What is feels like looking at the Sony FE 50-150mm f/2 GM lens 10 minutes after saying I was going to start saving money: 👁️👄👁️

The Sony FE 50-150mm f/2 GM is basically the dream setup for photographers who want insane image quality, and that creamy f/2 depth of field WITHOUT constantly switching lenses. Portraits, sports, events, concerts, wildlife, content creation — this thing is built to do a little bit of everything and make it all look incredible.

And that constant f/2 aperture?! Sony shooters already know how wild that is for a zoom lens! Low light performance, buttery background blur, sharpness… this lens is going to become someone’s entire personality real fast.

📸✨ The Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS walked so today’s compact cameras could RUN.

Back when this little point-and-shoot came out, it was the camera to bring everywhere — concerts, sleepovers, vacations, mall trips, blurry photos of your friends at night… honestly, an entire era was documented on cameras like this 😅

What made the SD1300 so popular was how simple and fun it was. Pocket-sized, easy to use, built-in flash, and way better image quality than early phone cameras at the time. It gave people a way to capture everyday life without carrying around a huge camera setup.

And now? We’re seeing a HUGE comeback of compact digital cameras because people miss that look — the direct flash, the slightly grainy low-light shots, and of course… the little date stamp in the corner that somehow makes every photo feel instantly nostalgic 🥹✨

Canon has come a long way since then, with modern PowerShot cameras now offering faster autofocus, better low-light performance, sharper video, wireless sharing, and creator-focused features — but there’s still something special about the charm of these older digicams.

Honestly, photos from cameras like the SD1300 don’t just look vintage… they feel like memories. 💛
