🌸 Plant Spotlight: Dahlia

Some flowers just know how to steal the show.

Dahlias are loved for their vibrant colors, unique blooms, and long flowering season. Once they get started, they'll continue blooming from summer right up until the first frost, giving your garden months of color.

A few reasons we love dahlias:
• Long-lasting blooms
• Great for cut flower bouquets
• Available in countless colors and flower forms
• Bloom best in full sun with regular watering

One of our favorite things about dahlias? The more you cut the flowers, the more they bloom. It's the perfect excuse to bring fresh flowers inside all summer long.

Carnivorous plants are here! 👹🪰 Venus Fly Traps and Sundews don’t get most of their nutrition from soil; rather, they trap and digest insects like flies and wasps.

It's hard to walk past these without smiling.

One of the best parts of this time of year is seeing the greenhouse filled with color. Every bench has something a little different, and every visit feels like a chance to discover a new favorite.

💡 Garden Fun Fact

Did you know not all Black-eyed Susans look the same?

This variety, Rudbeckia 'Rising Sun Chestnut Gold,' adds warm shades of gold, amber, and chestnut to the classic Black-eyed Susan we all know and love.

One of our favorite things about this photo? Look at all the unopened buds. Each one is another bloom waiting to open, giving you weeks of color instead of just a single flush of flowers.

Our starfish cactus is blooming and it took our breath away this morning! This flower is about the size of an adult hand. If you get close enough, these blooms smell like dead meat, which attract the flies that pollinate them.

While this is our mother plant and isn’t for sale, we have an $18.99 hanging basket that is about to pop too!
