Apparently, yarn companies do not consult me before discontinuing one of my favorite colors.

Rude. 😂

So yesterday I was making swatches, trying to find a replacement that still gives me the same soft feel.

My highly scientific process:

Crochet.
Compare.
Squint.
Move it around.
Squint again.

Because “close enough” and right are not always the same thing.

A nursery doesn’t have to match perfectly.

Actually, I think rooms are more interesting when they don’t.

But repeating a few colors, mixing in different textures, and choosing one special piece that helps everything belong together can make a huge difference.

And yes… I am usually going to vote for the blanket being that piece. 😂

That’s the fun part of custom for me — pulling colors from the room and turning them into something that feels like it was always meant to be there.
