Some time ago, I was standing in line at the grocery store behind a mom and her daughter. Her sweet girl had special needs and was making some joyful—but pretty loud—sounds. The mom gently tried to distract her, but when our eyes met, she quickly looked away. I could see the embarrassment on her face.

My heart immediately went back to when Kinsey was little. I remember the stares and how badly I wanted to protect her—not just physically, but from ever feeling like she was somehow “different.”

I wanted to tell that mom, “It’s okay. You’re doing a wonderful job, and your daughter is precious just as she is.” But I didn’t want to bring more attention to the moment, so I stayed quiet.

When I got to my car, I felt prompted to pray for her. I’ve learned over the years that when God places someone on your heart like that, it’s best not to ignore it. So I prayed that she would feel strength and peace—and be reminded that God sees her, loves her, and is walking right beside her.

Maybe someone else needs this reminder today too: God sees you—even in the moments when you feel overwhelmed, uncomfortable, or unsure of what to do. He knows your heart, He sees how hard you’re trying, and you are never walking through it alone. 💛

Does life feel a little hard lately?

Over the years, I’ve learned that the more we try to follow where God is leading us, the more distractions, discouragement, and hard things can seem to come our way.

The enemy would love nothing more than to get us discouraged, take our focus off God, and make us forget who we are and what we were created for.

So today, I just want to remind you to guard your heart and keep your eyes on Him. Don’t let a hard season make you lose sight of the purpose God has placed inside you.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
