Systemic racism in labor and delivery is a harsh reality for pregnant Black moms all across the US.

Black women are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women, and this disparity persists across income and education levels. Hearing this mother’s story is both infuriating and heartbreaking. We are so happy she was able to advocate for herself and her baby. But how many Black mothers can? 💔

These disparities are not just statistics – they represent real lives lost and families shattered. Efforts to address systemic racism in labor and delivery isn’t being take seriously by our health leaders in this country.
