Typically born from late April to June, fawns are highly vulnerable in their first few weeks, relying on their mother's camouflaging abilities to stay hidden from predators.
If you're in the field, be mindful of areas with thick cover where mothers may be bedding down with their young. Avoid disturbing these areas, as your presence can increase stress on the doe and her fawn. Observing wildlife in its natural cycle adds a whole new layer to your outdoor experience.
