Welcome back, Art History Club!
Tomorrow night, Tuesday, February 21st, the first event in the Graduate Student Lecture Series will be held in 123 Memorial Hall at 5:00pm. Dr. Andrea Pearson, Associate Professor in the Department of Art at American University will present “Sensory Piety as Social Intervention in a Mechelen Besloten Hofje." The talk will explore sixteenth-century devotional practices that were mediated through art and the relationship between sensory piety, physical disability, monastic reform, and the gendered practice of enclosure.
