Turns out reading for fun may be doing more than helping you escape for a while. 📚

A new University of Cambridge review looked at research on reading for pleasure and found links with better mental health, greater empathy, stronger cognitive skills, and benefits for brain health as we age.

And one of the nicest parts? It doesn’t really matter what you read — the researchers emphasized that reading for enjoyment is what counts.

So if you needed another reason to pick up a book just because you want to, consider this your sign.
