Brutal heat wave outside, so I’m staying inside and getting to play with my new toy. 😏

A million tiny squares later… any guesses what this is going to be when it’s done?

Hint: it’ll be super useful, reusable, and its disposable counterpart can be found in just about every bathroom. 👀

Have you ever wondered what I sell during a regular Market Day? Let me be vulnerable and show you. 🐝

Remember, I’m a tiny business. A young low-waste shop with a weirdly specific mission and a niche target audience. I only sell a handful of products I genuinely believe in. And I’m also a full-time mom, so all my markets have to happen during school hours. 🫣

So yeah! This is usually what I sell!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that, and a whole lot of hope that there are people out there who want to make more thoughtful choices, too. 🌎

Local order, personally delivered. 🐝

No box. No unnecessary packaging. No shipping something across the country.

Just me, a mailbox, and a repeat customer who’s already a sustainability pro.

That’s how low-waste shopping in DuPage & Kane County can look like 🌿

Sensitive skin? Dry skin? Oily or acne-prone? Looking to help with the appearance of hyperpigmentation?

There’s a little color-coded dot on each Unearth Malee handmade soap to help you find your match.

Or simply let your nose lead you. 🌿

I'm proud to carry these beautiful soaps at Biene.

It’s laundry day, lol. So my usual white Biene tee stayed home, and I’m embracing the ’90s. 😎

The outfit for the day is featuring a fully charged tech accessory that I may or may not have “borrowed” from my kids: the OG Pokémon Go. 🎮😂 Best garage sale find ever!

Happy Wednesday, y’all! Gotta catch ’em all!

School starts next week, which means it’s officially been one year since I quit my Silicon Valley job.

I traded my 9-to-5 for a 24/7. 😂

There’s really no “off” switch when you’re building your own business. I’m literally sitting at a car dealership with my kids right now, working on Biene’s Christmas offerings. Yes, Christmas. In August. 🎄😂

Running a small business is wild. Helping people ditch plastic isn’t always easy, and there are a lot of things I never knew I’d have to figure out.

But a year later, one thing is very clear: My soul has never been happier.

And I think that’s worth a little 24/7.

Is this the beginning of a beautiful friendship between a bee ("Biene" is German for “bee”) and a Barn Owl? 🐝🦉

I may have gotten my answer this morning when a honey bee showed up while I was setting up at Barn Owl Garden Center in Carol Stream. She calmly walked all over my beeswax wraps like she had been waiting for me all along. 🥹

I think she was saying, “Yep, you belong here.” 💛

Hey DuPage County! I meant it when I said you’ll see me around!

Tomorrow, I’m heading to Carol Stream for a brand-new Biene pop-up at Barn Owl Garden Center! 🌿

I love that they created a space where local businesses and the community can come together in a relaxed, welcoming way. And I’m so excited I get to be part of it!

Come shop local, say hi, and stay awhile. And if you’re lucky, you might even get a game of fetch in with Bader and Denny, their adorable pups! 🐶

📍 Barn Owl Garden Center, Carol Stream
🕙 10 AM–3 PM

See you tomorrow!

10am vs. 3pm — SAME DAY. 😳

At 10am, I was hiding in the basement with my two little ones while the tornado sirens kept going off. 🌪️

And now? I’m at the Naper Settlement Farmers Market in the sunshine, listening to banjo music. ☀️🎶

Come visit me, grab a coffee (or dinner!) from one of the many food trucks, and enjoy this beautiful afternoon at the market. 💛

🔋 Got dead batteries? Bring them to Biene! As of January 1, 2026, Illinois has a statewide battery stewardship program. Household batteries should not go in your curbside trash or recycling bin.

As part of my community initiatives, I’ve always supported this effort and offered to collect your common household batteries for proper recycling.

You can:
* Hand them to me at any Biene market — no purchase necessary!
* Give them to me during Biene doorstep delivery when you place an order at www.Go-Biene.com

🚨 A friendly reminder: this service is for empty, intact common household batteries such as AA, AAA, C, D and 9V batteries.

For safety reasons, I cannot accept swollen, leaking, cracked, overheated or corroded batteries.

And I’m saying that because last time I received a bunch of those. 😬 Not cool, friends!

But what if you have broken or damaged batteries? Please check the first comment to find out where you can safely bring those.

Let’s keep those batteries out of the trash and keep everyone handling them safe.
