🔲 A remarkable display of marble, where every detail reveals a different color, pattern, and natural character.
-
This beautiful Italian 19th century side table brings together the richness of sculpted giltwood with the extraordinary artistry of Pietra Dura. Its top immediately draws the eye, centered by a striking checkerboard composition of inlaid marbles and stones, framed by Black Belgian marble and a richly patterned veneered marble border. Beyond its decorative beauty, the integrated chessboard invites the table to be enjoyed as it was intended, whether for a quick game, or simply admired for the artistry of its design.
-
Below, an equally impressive giltwood base gives the piece its sculptural presence. Three beautifully scrolled legs terminate in handsome paw feet, surrounded by carved acanthus leaves, while the central support is finished with a reeded sphere and delicate oval detailing.
-
A remarkable balance of color, texture, and form, with something new to discover from every angle.

đź’ Several exceptional Baccarat creations lead this weeks newest collection of 19th-century and Turn of the Century Crystal and Ormolu boxes, where the artistry is revealed in the cut of the crystal itself. Deep facets, geometric patterns, sculpted edges, and wonderfully unexpected silhouettes transform each box, catching and refracting the light differently from every angle. Though similar in purpose, their distinctive shapes, varying transparencies, unique openings, and details such as a fitted green onyx stone give each an unmistakable character of its own.
-
🌼Completing the group is a striking Crystal and Ormolu vase signed Escalier de Cristal, Paris, a celebrated name in French decorative arts.
-
A particularly beautiful chapter among our newest arrivals.

✒️Few signatures tell a story quite like this one.

Created in François Linke’s celebrated Paris workshop in 1926, this exceptional work is distinguished by the signatures of two remarkable craftsmen. The case is signed by Hans Bieder, who, at only twenty-three years of age, was already serving as a foreman in Linke’s atelier. The finely chased bronze mounts are signed by his father, Oskar Bieder of Liestal, bringing together two generations of the Bieder family with one of the greatest cabinetmakers of the Belle Époque.
-
That collaboration is especially significant. François Linke was celebrated for the extraordinary quality of his gilt bronze mounts, which became one of the defining characteristics of his work. While he occasionally commissioned mounts from outside workshops, examples bearing the signatures of both Hans and Oskar Bieder are exceptionally rare, offering a remarkable glimpse into the relationship between the Linke and Bieder workshops.
-
That relationship would ultimately shape history. With no heirs of his own, François Linke later entrusted his celebrated atelier to Hans Bieder, who continued the business following Linke’s passing in 1946. More than an exceptional work of craftsmanship, this piece stands as a tangible chapter in the legacy of one of history’s greatest furniture makers.

Gracefully distinct yet beautifully harmonious, this remarkable pair of French 19th-century Louis XVI-style lamps commands attention through its sculptural elegance and exceptional detail.
-
Each patinated bronze maiden stands gracefully upon a richly detailed base of black Belgian marble and ormolu, her flowing garments lending a wonderful sense of movement to the composition. Though their poses and sculptural details vary, the pair is beautifully united by their raised foliate torches and striking frosted glass flames. One maiden is joined by a fierce dolphin at her feet, its tail curling upward around her leg and bringing a distinctive touch of mythology and character to the design.
-
Together, they form an extraordinary pair, harmonious in presence yet individually captivating.
