That pinky is holdin’ on for dear life.

I’m headed to a book sale today and I sure hope I’ve got all my provisions provisioned. I’ve got:
-snacks
-AirPods (listening to Frankenstein by Mary Shelly)
-my giant bags on wheels (watch out ankles, coming through)
-water
-checks
-library card
-ID
-a tank top
-battery pack

I hope I haven’t forgotten anything. We are long overdue for used books at the bookshop stick around, stay tuned, and see what we come back with.

You begged, pleaded, and threw pebbles at our windows to get our attention. “Just add more hours!” you shouted from behind your cupped mouths.

Fine, fine. We’re trying this out and you may be right that it’s the right thing to do. This week, our fourth opened week, we are adding two new staff members to The Bookshop. Hannah and Jessica will be the friendly new faces you see in Good Company. They’ll be in lead of serving drinks (w**e, ch*****ne, and mocktails) and being my right and left hand in The Bookshop too. I’m so glad to have them.

Come by this week to meet the new crew. Introduce yourself, tell them a story, sign up for an event. Don’t be a stranger.

We cannot wait for our very first children’s story hour and The Bookshop. This book has been looking mighty adorable on my local writers shelf.

Bring your littles and meet Cheddar the Bear on September 26th at 10:30am.

How did a fishing trip, a friendly bear named Cheddar, and one little piece of cheese become a story about kindness, sharing, and faith? 🌲📖

Bring your little adventurers to The Bookshop for a special reading of Baylor’s Big Adventures: Papa and Baylor Go Fishing with local author Tara Shahan, writing as B. Eleanor Angle.

I’ll share the heart behind the story and how this gentle Ozark adventure encourages children to tuck God’s Word into their hearts. Children can meet Cheddar and enjoy a free coloring page, too!

Parents will also discover the free songs, crafts, scavenger hunts, family activities, and other companion adventures—so the adventure can continue long after storytime ends.

🍎Covers of many colors- Book Bedazzling contest. Celebrate the 2nd annual Dolly & Porter fest on the West Plains downtown square. Good Company will be the spot for VIP ticket holders, but everyone can participate in The Bookshops Bedazzling contest. Pick up a bedazzling kit (and a book if you wish) and turn in your bedazzled creation by Sept. 26th to be entered to win.

🍎 Junk Journaling with Joy- or junk journal while grumpy. Joy Pace is the host! Follow her suggested supply list and bring them to Good Company on Oct. 9. Cost is $10.

🍎 Author reading and signing with Samantha Burd the perfect local author for spooky season. A $10 voucher can be applied to the book or in the shop.

🍎 Floating the Ozarks presentation with Marcus Allen. If you’ve ever even dipped your toe in our local waters, you don’t want to miss this. $10

🍎 Story hour with Mary-Louise Grisham Nash bring the kids for a reading of Room on the Broom and paint cute witchy stones $30

🍎Bring Your Craft Movie Party- bring your crosswords or cross-stitch and we will watch a cozy fan favorite film. $25
